Hymenocallis (Spider Lily) is mainly grown as an ornamental. It requires sunlight to partial shade for proper growth and blooms from mid-summer to late autumn with white flowers.

Foliage: Smooth, glossy leaves are long and strap-shaped with entire leaf margin. Leaves are slightly folded along the midrib and have an acute leaf tip.
Flowers: Large white flowers with intense lime green throat are borne on a thick, flattened stem.
Life cycle: Perennial

Toxicity: All parts are poisonous if eaten – exercise caution.
Propagation: Offsets, Bulbs or Seeds: When the seeds mature, just toss them on the ground or on the surface of the pot beneath the parent plants. Keep the soil moist. Germination can take up to 3-4 months
Containers: Suitable in 10 liter or larger. Very good drainage necessary when planted  in pots.
